Librarisk: An Innovative Risk Communication Tool
Librarisk is a travel and navigation application developed by Jeco srl. It is a free Android app designed to provide users with an innovative risk communication tool. With Librarisk, users can download the Civil Protection Plan of their chosen municipalities onto their smartphones or tablets.
The app allows users to interactively explore the contents of the plans, including areas at risk, potential scenarios, local civil protection resources (waiting areas, shelter areas, assembly areas, strategic facilities), and self-protection measures (recommended behavioral practices) to reduce exposure to hazards.
Librarisk also offers a push notification alert system to inform users about hydraulic and hydrogeological critical conditions predicted by the National Civil Protection Department for their respective areas. Users can also receive alerts directly from their municipalities.
Additionally, Librarisk enables users to contribute to the dissemination of alerts and notifications through various channels, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, email, and SMS. Users can also access the Twitter streams of major national and local civil protection hashtags and channels.
Please note that Librarisk is an "edutainment" tool aimed at promoting risk culture and prevention. It should not be considered an official alert system. The safety of individuals, property, and the environment is ensured by the official operational procedures of the Municipal Civil Protection Plan.
